Gameplay Animator

No Code is seeking a experienced and versatile animator with strong acting and storytelling skills, who understands game production and has a genuine interest in game development.

You will be working closely under the guidance of the Lead Animator to create believable, high-quality animations, and to achieve a consistent level of quality while ensuring that each animation is right for it's purpose.

Candidates must possess an exceptional ability to portray realistic physical movement, and apply these to computer-generated characters.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Lead Animator and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the animations works as intended for in-game assets.

  • Create high quality character, creature and environmental animations.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies.

  • Work with both keyframe and motion capture data.

  • Conceptualize and produce large-scale cinematic moments within games and other forms of media.

  • Provide animation-related feedback for development of in-house tools.

  • Prototype and evaluate game play features, and perform multi-platform testing and bug fixes during game shipping and release process.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in video game development, preferably with at least one shipped title on PC or Console

  • Experience and/or an interest in working with Motion Capture Data.

  • Ability to work from concept through final product.

  • Working knowledge of Maya, 3DS Max and/or Motionbuilder.

  • Working knowledge of game production and working in-engine (eg. Unreal, Unity).

  • Strong collaboration skills.

  • Be a team player, open to take and offer feedback.

  • Ability to self-manage and make responsible decisions about time and project priorities.

  • Additional knowledge of modeling, texturing, rigging, scripting, lighting or video editing are preferred.
